I protect the area, take off or cover what's needed and leave a smooth, even finish, matching the colour you have or changing it for another. It's a low-cost job that renews a lot, and it's usually done at the same time as painting the home.

- Do the radiators have to be taken off to paint them?
- Not always. Many radiators can be enamelled in place by protecting the wall and floor well. If the access is very awkward, I consider taking it off; I'll tell you when I see the job.
- Does the radiator enamel stand up to the heat?
- Yes, I use enamels made specifically for radiators that resist the heat without yellowing or cracking. For shutters and exteriors, an enamel that resists sun and rain.
- Do you paint aluminium shutters and garage doors?
- Yes. I sand, treat the metal and apply exterior enamel. They come out like new and protected against the weather.
