A holiday let sells itself on looks: the first photo in the listing decides whether a guest keeps scrolling or moves on to the next place. And nothing transforms a photo like freshly painted walls. I'm Pepe, a painter based in Elche, and I paint holiday apartments across the Costa Blanca — Elche, Santa Pola and all along the coast.
On top of that, a flat with lots of turnover takes twice the wear: suitcases, hands, scuffs and knocks. The right paint holds up longer and is easy to touch up between seasons.
Colours that pop in the photos and never date
For a holiday let, whites and neutral light shades work best: they give a sense of space and light, they come out beautifully in the photos and they go with any furniture or decor you put in. A splash of colour on one wall can add character, but don't overdo it — timeless finishes age better and never get tiring.
Which paint stands up to the wear of a holiday flat
Basic paint just won't cut it here. I use washable, hard-wearing paints that cope with suitcases scuffing the walls, hands along the hallways and frequent cleaning between guests. That way the walls stay looking good all season long, and when a touch-up is due, it's done in no time.
Fast and between bookings, without losing any nights
I know every day the flat sits empty is money that isn't coming in. I plan around the gaps between bookings or the low season, leave everything clean and ready for the next check-in, and stick to the timescale we agree. If you run several apartments, we sort out the schedule together.

FAQ
- What colour works best for a holiday let?
- Whites and light neutrals: they open up the space, add light, look great in the listing photos and go with everything. If you want a bit of character, keep it to a single splash of colour on one wall — nothing too busy.
- Can you paint between one booking and the next?
- Yes. I work around your calendar, fitting the job into the gaps between bookings or the low season, and leave it clean and ready for the next check-in so you don't lose any nights of rental.
- Do you work in Santa Pola and along the coast?
- Yes. I paint holiday apartments in Elche, Santa Pola, Arenales del Sol and the surrounding area. Tell me where it is and I'll give you a free quote.
